Transmedia artist based in Toronto whose work intersects art, science, and technology. His practice involves installations, autonomous machines, and performances that explore the mechanisms of new media, technology, and data through architecture and space. Using computer programming and generative algorithms, he creates interactive media that blend geometry, pattern, light, and poetry. Ali Phi has performed and exhibited internationally at venues such as Ars Electronica (Austria), Mutek (Canada, Chile, Argentina, UAE) and Asia Now: Paris Asian Art Fair (France), among others. He was also the artistic director of TADAEX in Teheran and has held workshops and lectures at institutions including York University and Virginia Commonwealth University of the Arts in Qatar.
