A dream is not a film.

A dream does not need a beginning or an end. Memory blends places, people, time, and emotion, creating a reality that, for a moment, feels entirely natural.

TRAUM, from the German der Traum: dream, vision, dreaming, is an audiovisual performance by Vi and Tomasz Gawroński of Tving Stage Design, centred on the act of recalling a dream. Memory does not replay dreams in their original form. It reconstructs them, fills in what is missing, and sometimes, almost unconsciously, creates them anew.

The project begins with TRAUM SIM, an interactive website created especially for this year’s Patchlab Festival, inviting participants to record their own dreams. These collected memories become the source material for the projections and the audiovisual world of the performance.

TRAUM moves between memory and imagination, between dreaming and reconstruction. It attempts to capture the moment when an image begins to dissolve and, before it disappears completely, memory tries to dream it once again.

Daniel Drumz will shape the night with sounds moving between ambient, house, dub, and techno, while Ari Dykier transforms them into surreal, collage-based visuals drawn from dreams, memories, symbols, and the subconscious. Their DJ/VJ set creates an audiovisual space where sound and image flow into one another at a more relaxed club pace, offering a moment to unwind and a softer extension of the day’s intense programme.
