ARTIST TALK: Talking and Creating with the Machine. Can AI be a public good?

  • Jacek Nagłowski _PL | vnLab PWSFTViT, AI Social Lab
  • Marcin Maciejewski | infuture.institute | Prowadzący / Host

The meeting will be dedicated to the creative possibilities that AI models already offer today — both those developed by tech giants and those based on open-source solutions. It will also look into the making of the VR Conversations experience, built around the artist’s authentic dialogues with successive generations of artificial intelligence. A key theme of the discussion will be the role of the AI Social Lab as a laboratory for AI systems designed to support solutions to future social, cultural, and educational challenges.

Jacek Nagłowski _PL
Producer, director, researcher, and new media creator. He leads the VR/AR Studio of the Visual Narrative Lab at the Łódź Film School (vnlab.org), where, alongside production, research into the language of VR is carried out. Since 2020, he has focused his practice on AI, creating works in collaboration with generative models and exploring the social consequences of technology as well as human–machine relations.
Currently, he is developing Bezdroża AI — Survival Guides and the AI Social Lab — initiatives aimed at creating and promoting artificial intelligence systems that help address social issues neglected by the commercial sector, including support for excluded and marginalized communities.

Marcin Maciejewski _PL
Future(s) Strategist – leads strategic research and development projects for future products and services. In his work, he utilises design research along with trends, forces, and factors of change (mega, macro, micro) to identify opportunities and bring long-term innovations to life. He emphasises kinesthetic learning: touching to understand better, lifting to feel, building to grasp, and drawing to experience. He is fascinated by global changes through the lens of human nature—behaviours, moods, thoughts, emotions, and imagination. He has worked as a Foresight Leader at Deutsche Telekom’s Technology Incubator and is currently part of the research and consulting company infuture.institute. He is a lecturer at SWPS University in Warsaw, AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, and WSB Merito University in Gdańsk. For years, he has been connected with the creative industries.
