Italian-French visual artist and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. His practice spans photography, painting, printmaking, experimental animation, and digital image-making, consistently dissolving boundaries between media. Since 1993, he has developed a distinctive approach to digital manipulation, and since 2022 has also explored artificial intelligence, focusing on its intersections with traditional image-making processes.
In 2011, Bavari received the Golden Nica at Prix Ars Electronica for his film Metachaos. The work later caught the attention of Ridley Scott, who invited him to contribute as a concept artist to Alien: Covenant for 20th Century Fox. Bavari has also worked in film as an art director and concept artist, collaborating with directors including Luca Guadagnino and Gabriele Lavia.
His work has been exhibited internationally in Japan, the USA, Canada, Finland, Spain, France, and Sweden. Alongside his artistic practice, he continues to work across film, videogames, advertising, and music.
