Emiko Okime (Emilia Gumańska) is a Warsaw-based multidisciplinary visual artist who combines her expertise as a cinematographer, director, and 3D artist with new media. As a VJ and visual artist, she has collaborated for years with European festivals such as DOUR in Belgium and the NAME Festival in France. Her works have been presented at events including the N-Minutes Video Art Festival (Shanghai), AVAV Epicentro Cultural (São Paulo), LPM Mexico City (CENART, Mexico), LPM Rome, Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest, Mapping Festival, WAMA Film Festival, Inota Festival, and Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. Her portfolio includes appearances at major Polish festivals, such as Open’er, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, and Audioriver, where she fuses modern technologies with a unique visual aesthetic. As a visual designer for theatrical productions, she has created projections for plays such as “The Woods” (dir. Alan Dilworth, Polski Theatre in Bydgoszcz), “Era Wodnika”(dir. M. Warsicka, Dramatyczny Theatre in Warsaw), “Wodzirej” and “Planeta Małp” (dir. M. Liber), “Sprawa dzieje się dziś” (dir. M. Majewska), and “M4G1C Blow” (Komuna Warszawa). She is a prize winner in competitions including the Modul8 Video Contest (Switzerland), Berlin Music Video Awards, PL Music Video Awards, VJ Torna International, and Yach Film Music Festival. In 2020, at the Dizajn BWA Wrocław gallery, she presented her original immersive video exhibition “Nie jesteś sam/a” (“You Are Not Alone”).
